The founder of Thorlos grew up watching his father knit socks. His father's philosophy was "A worthwhile life is to be the best at something." The founder shares his father's philosophy and incorporates this viewpoint in constructing the socks for Thorlos. Using their patented technologies, the "sports specifics" concept is Thorlos. Thorlon enhances loft and resilience and will not allow perspiration to stay behind. Socks are available for golfing, running, playing tennis and basketball. Due to their technology, they have received numerous letters from consumers and doctors informing Thorlos that their products were helping their feet to feel better. When your feet are pain free, your quality of life is more pleasurable. When the correct socks are combined with the correct shoe your quality of life will be enchanced. Thorlo has business relationships with other companies such as Jagger Brothers, Inc. and the Nathional Spinning Co., Inc. Socks made specifically for western boots provide an extra thick heel pocket that allows the foot to make the turn in the boot and allows the foot to feel secure and comfortable. Women's Roll Top Sock is the only under-the ankle women's golf sock that stays up all day. This sock also provides extra cushioning and comfort. Look for these popular items: the Thorlo women's lite running micro-mini sock with cool max; Thorlo At-Work and uniform sock; Thorlo At-work Safety Toe Sock; Thorlo At-Work Uniform Support Sock; Basketball; backpacking wool socks, casual dress socks - over the calf or crew length. And for the cold weather - snowboard and skiing socks.

4Pretty Good Socks  Jan 21, 2007 By Japhy "Eddiet"
I live in NYC and i bought these socks for our cold winter days. I'm not much of a hiker.

They fit great, and they are a huge improvement over regular cotton socks in terms of both warmth and moisture-wicking ability (my feet don't get very sweaty in them).

I usually wear them around the house on the weekends instead of slippers. I've found that slippers get very sweaty, but these socks work great.

The fit is very good- molded to the shape of your feet. The thickness is also pretty good, and I can still fit into my regular sized sneakers when I wear them.

For the price, compared to other wool composite socks I've seen, these are probably the best.

After 2-3 months of owning and wearing them on and off, I have noticed the bottoms are very "fuzzy" and if you hold them up to the light you can really see that extra fuzz on the bottom. I don't think they will fall apart, though. They seem to be holding up well.

4"Thick" might be an overstatement  Feb 01, 2009 By W. C. LITTLE
Have purchased Thorlo for years. While the construction seems to remain constant, my feeling is that 'thick' is not as thick as it used to be.

5Thorlo wool/thorolon thick cushion hiking sock  Feb 13, 2008 By L. C. Thayer II "Bud T"
This is the best all around / all year around casual boot hiking / work shoe sock on the market. Well worth the high price. Been wearing them for over 15 years.

5Great socks - especially with deals  Dec 16, 2011 By Tom N
Very warm and comfortable without being too binding.

I'm a shoe size 9.5 and size 13 sock fits well.

Watch for "buy 4 get the 5th free", etc offers on the page.

4as advertised  Feb 20, 2009 By Kevin A. Kierstead "Kevin. A. Kierstead"
These socks aren't TOO thick but they do have moderate padding/cushion. When you wear them, you notice a difference not only with regard to the padding all day but it'll put you in a better mood. I went back to regular socks after wearing these and the bottoms of my feet were burning (new pair of shoes) so i am totally spoiled now. I'm trying a few other brands to find the very best, but TRUST me, get yourself some high-quality, cushioned socks and you will kick yourself in the butt for not doing it earlier--it makes a true difference in your life! Some lady once said something like, "You better have a comfy bed and comfy shoes, cuz when you aren't in one, you're in the other," but she should have said socks. You'll never go back to six-packs of cotton bleh socks.
