Best socks I have ever owned! Jun 30, 2010
By Benjamin Wilber First off, these are WORK socks. So several of the other reviews should be ignored by virtue of that fact.
As someone who works 12 hours a day, 5 days a week in a welding shop whether the ambient temperature is 115 degrees in the summer or 50 degrees in the winter (they didn't like to heat the shop, we were supposed to just work harder) I can tell you that these socks are as good as they are ever going to get. They are the perfect dimensions; not too big, or long, or overly thick. They fit well in my steel toes. I didn't feel like the material was bunching up in the toes. My feet never felt cold or hot and, best of all, my feet didn't sweat. That means that when I'm done at the end of the day my feet aren't going to smell.
I bought between 10 and 15 pairs of these around 2 years ago and I haven't worn any out. They still feel the same way they did when they were new. For socks they may be expensive but I never thought that I would love socks, but I love these socks. I love them so much I may even buy a few extra pairs and store them in case they're discontinued. That should say something.

Poorly made Apr 16, 2009
By J. Headley I thought I'd try these since I loved the Wigwam Comfort Hiker socks so much, but these socks are a major disappointment. They're way too thin, but even worse, they have a terrible, squared-off toe. So you can feel this hard nub in the corners of your shoes.

Great value work socks. Mar 11, 2011

Great USA Made work socks. Not to out do anyone, but I just went through 23 hours on my feet. The job called for it today. I am moving away from cotton socks following severe blisters and new shoes. Great comfort level. I like the fact that they contain wool, a renewable material.
To critic the socks, I would say they are on the thick side, but not too thick. They did not move on my feet or bunch up, put they did slide on the leg. They do provide great cushion on the sole in steel toe shoes. Not itchy at all like wool socks of the old days. I can't speak for cold working conditions, my work environment is on the warm side (furnaces). But I did not notice my feet sweating anymore than usual. More importantly, no blisters. Definitely would buy again. They seemed like a good value compared to Carhartt Men's Traditional Ultimate Merino Wool Work Sock, and the "Cadillac priced" Smartwool On the Job Light Crew.

Wigwam socks Sep 10, 2011
By J. E. McQuiggan Just received these socks and will be testing them out. The soles seem very substantial. They're not as heavy as winter wool socks. this is a feature I was looking for to use in the summer months. I was using Hanes heavy duty crew socks that were throw away after only 8 months of use (holes in heels). I often use them as slippers in the house. This last batch that I ordered from Hanes and used seems to be more flimsy than the ones I used in the past. The order arrived on time and packaged well. They are more expensive than the Hanes though, after reading several reviews, they seem to last a lot longer which would make up for the expense. It's too bad because I liked the Hanes. They fit well and they had the hard to find light grey socks that I like to wear.

I purchased these socks for my father-in-law who has swollen feet and poor circulation. They are a perfect fit and very comfortable while keeping his feet warm - 2 thumbs way up!!
